When “The Rite of Spring” was first performed in Paris in 1913, it created shock waves not only in the theater where it was performed, but throughout the world of music. It is one of the most revolutionary and significant pieces of music of the 20th century. This arrangement tries to stay as close to Stravinsky's vision as possible while allowing the opportunity for students to perform a piece which sounds just as fresh today as it did almost a century ago.
