Playing the greatest works of the great composers has now been made easier thanks to a series of editions in which pieces are singled out, organized according to progressive levels of difficulty, and provided with a whole series of precious support materials such as historical and literary introductions to each work, technical guidelines for pianists, fingerings, etc. An excellent way to discover the great piano repertoire and a useful teaching aid. The present collection begins with works taken from the Children's Album, such as “The Sick Doll” and “The March of the Wooden Soldiers,” especially suitable for beginning students. This is followed by aselection drawn from The Seasons, which includes one of Tchaikovsky's masterpieces, the “Barcarolle (June).” The volume closes with a particularly interesting offering for piano four-hands.
