Description
Vienna Urtext has masterfully produced the most authentic edition available of Mozart's Piano Sonata in A Minor, K. 310, working from the composer's autograph, penned in the late 18th century. After changing many hands throughout the years, including theft from storage in Germany during World War II, the original manuscript resides with the Pierpoint Morgan Library in New York, and a facsimile of this document is included. This particular sonata was written shortly after the death of Mozart's mother, to which one can ascribe its dark, dissonant themes throughout the movements. Editorial suggestions have been kept to a minimum, with faithful reproductions of Mozart's original instructions included. For the advanced player.
