Description
Well-known as a piano solo from the early 20th century, this delightful slice of Americana has been carefully and successfully arranged for one piano, four hands. While studying music at Oberlin Conservatory, Nathaniel Dett was influenced by Antonin Dvorak to include native, folk-like melodies in his music. For Dett, this meant African-American spirituals and other influences of his heritage. As found in “Juba Dance,” the result is fun for performers and audiences alike.
