Everyone Sang (from “Sing Evermore!”)

Description

Set to the poem Everyone Sang written by Siegfried Sassoon at the end of World War I, this uplifting piece opens with accompaniment patterns intended to imitate the flight of birds, followed by soprano and baritone solos. Rich and intuitive choral texture fills out the rest, rising to a triumphant end: “…the singing will never be done.”
