Description

Come, Thou Fount is one of the great love poems of sacred literature. The text contains many references to music, connecting music and love for the One above even more closely. “Tune my heart to sing thy grace,” ” songs of loudest praise,” and “some melodious sonnet sung by flaming tongues above” are three powerful references made to music in the first verse. The second verse set here by the arranger is more about human failings and the redemptive power of grace.

The unison version is strong and powerful. Voice Part II, if you choose to use it, adds color and warmth to the performance.
