Music theory for a very young beginner (age 6 or 7)
Beginning 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade students could start at this level. This is a “Theory Fundamental” level workbook. Older beginners, older than age 8, should consider using the Bronze Medallion workbook (see the Medallion Series video on the home page). Many concepts are repeated and reviewed in each of the “Theory Fundamental” levels. This is to ensure that a firm foundation is set. Concpets include: Music alphabet, introduction to keyboard, introduction to the staff, stem rule, steps & skips on a keyboard / staff, repeated notes, dynamics, treble clef lines & spaces, bass clef lines & spaces, quarter note & rest, half note & rest, whole note & rest, dotted half note, measures, bar lines, double bar line, time signatures, rhythm drill, vocabulary, ear-training and review test. (51 pages, 13 Lessons, 8 Fun Sheets). Workbooks are NOT reproducible. Upon completion, a student is ready to begin the Grade Two workbook.
