Médée

Description

This new edition of Cherubini's Médée was awarded with the Deutscher Musikeditionspreis in 2008 and successfully performed in Vienna (2008), Brussels (2008/2011), Lisbon (2009), London (2010), and Paris (2012). It uncovers the original form, intended by the composer, of a central musico-dramatic work of the repertoire and, for the first time, facilitates its interpretation according to the standards of the historical performance practice. Cherubini's Médée is the work of a brilliant cosmopolitan in which influences of Italian, German, and French traditions of the late 18th century are combined.
