Description
Many trumpet players have found the vocalise – a lyrical vocal exercise – lends itself perfectly to brass instruments. While originally composed for the voice, the style, phrasing, and range of these selected works translate into excellent trumpet performance pieces.
The melodies within this book were taken from Eighteen Solfeggi for Two Voices by Italian pianist and vocal teacher, Giuseppe Concone (1801–1861) and Petite messe brêve for two voices and piano, by Bernhard Lütgen (c. 1835–c. 1870).
Dr. Mike Huff, Professor of Trumpet at Troy University, draws on his extensive teaching and performance experience to skillfully adapt these duets for two trumpets, including suggested phrase markings to facilitate relaxed breathing.
